ReplyThat's interesting, Jeanetta. This issue is way deeper than just what the CEO said. Millions of Chik-Fil-A dollars have gone to organizations who actively engage in discriminating against gays. Now that's real hate. The only thing the other side is guilty of hating is intolerance. And speaking of boycotts, lets look at the companies your side had boycotted for supporting gay rights, if I can remember any. Oh, yeah, there's Target, American Apparel, Starbucks, J.C. Penny, Oreo Cookies, Betty Crocker, Levi's, Cheerios, Walt Disney World, Weaties, Tide, Microsoft, Home Depot, Pampers, Pepsi, Safeway, Tide, Old Navy, Macy's, Target, Pilsbury, Walgreens, Ford, Gap, and Green Giant. Who were you supporting then?

ReplyMy mistake, Joe. I tried to emphasize that no matter what, the people who came had a great time, and there was a great vibe to the whole afternoon.

ReplyYour point about Thai Sawadee is well taken, however, I must stick up for my compatriot here. The parameters of the column dictate that only one establishment from each of the three communities is included. Since we have written two articles about Thai Sawadee--including a recent rave review--I think Natalie had little choice but to include any place other than Thai Sawadee. You are certainly right about them though. They're great.

ReplyI will miss Rachel greatly. I first began with her as a listing agent before Chesterfield Patch had published a single story. Now I write for several Patch sites, but Rachel will always hold a special place in my heart as my first editor and someone who's taught me a great deal. I found her a great writer, a terrific editor, a wonderful people manager and, perhaps most importantly, a dear heart. I know Jean Whitney's work and I know she'll do a fantastic job as well, and I look forward to a new era with her. But, dear Rachel, I'll miss you and wish you only the best in your future travels. Peace.
