Florissant Police said the man fled from the police officer who approached him.
A man faces criminal charges after a police officer saw him putting put an item into a car that was reported stolen. Florissant Police said an officer saw Derenta Street, 22, put a brown shoulder bag into a stolen car at 306 Dunn Road in Florissant Dec. 11, 2011. When Street entered the car’s passenger side of the car, the officer approached him to arrest him. Street fled from the officer, police said. Police said a Masterpiece Arms 9 mm luger was concealed inside the brown shoulder bag. Street, of the 1000 block of Hornsby in St. Louis' Baden neighborhood, was charged Thursday with unlawful use of a weapon and resisting arrest. He was being held in St. Louis County jail Friday. The man stole the handgun in unincorporated St. Louis County north of Bellefontaine Neighbors, police said.
A North County man, charged with stealing a firearm, told police he sold the handgun to a drug dealer in East St. Louis. Terrance L. McCaleb Jr, 20, of the 6800 block of Culpepper Court in North County, was charged Jan. 9 with stealing a firearm. McCaleb lives in unincorporated St. Louis County east of Black Jack. St. Louis County Police said McCaleb stole a .40 cal Smith and Wesson semi-automatic pistol at about 9 a.m. March 24 in the 1100 block of Wiskow Drive north of Bellefontaine Neighbors. Police said McCaleb told them he sold the handgun to an East St. Louis drug dealer. The firearm was recovered from the drug dealer named by McCaleb. A man fired a shotgun into a Florissant house during a drive-by shooting Thursday in the 1700 block of Layven Avenue. Richard Glaspy, 19, of the 600 block of Naomi Avenue in Florissant, was charged Thursday with shooting a firearm from a vehicle at a habitable structure, a class B felony. Florissant Police said the resident was home during the shooting. No one was injured. Glaspy is being held in St. Louis County jail. Bail has been set at $25,000. A man faces criminal charges after Ferguson Police said he robbed the Shop ‘n Save on Old Halls Ferry Road Thursday. Police said Cedric V. Ramsey, 32, of the 600 block of Cheltenham Road in Black Jack, said a cashier was checking out when Ramsey came up behind her and said, “Give me the (expletive) money.” The cashier told police that he pressed something that might have been a handgun against her back. She gave him all the cash in her drawer, totaling $349. Ferguson Police said Ramsey had the money when he was arrested shortly after the robbery. Ramsey was charged Friday with first-degree robbery. Police said three people robbed the Wing Stop in Florissant Sept. 6, stealing about $2,000. The following people were charged with first-degree robbery and armed criminal action in the incident: Bateman also was charged with first-degree burglary and a second count of armed criminal action. Florissant Police said that one of the accused said Tompkins drove the car while Bateman and Nowden went to the rear of Wing Stop at 8222 North Lindbergh Blvd. and knocked on the door. When the door was opened, they forced their way in. Bateman had a handgun and demanded money, police said. A man faces criminal charges for a drive-by shooting Saturday in Dellwood. Geri Reid, 33, of the 3500 block of Pershall Road in Ferguson near St. Louis Community College – Florissant Valley, was charged Sunday with shooting a firearm at a house or person from a vehicle. St. Louis County Police said Reid shot a firearm at a house in the 10500 block of Trask Drive in Dellwood. Bond was set at $50,000. A Florissant man was charged with illegally possessing a firearm because he was convicted of a felony in 1993. Jesse Henderson, 44, of the 600 block of Materdei Lane in Florissant, was charged with illegally possession a weapon. Florissant Police responded to a disturbance call at Henderson’s home, and they discovered a Hi Point .380 cal handgun in the house. Henderson was convicted of sexual assault in 1993.
