Vote NOW: Let's Help de.lish Cheesecake Bakery and Café Put Florissant on the Map!

Jeff and Kristi Mullersman hope to put Florissant on the map by winning a contest that will offer their cafe and the city national coverage. You can help--and all you need to do is watch this YouTube video by Feb. 4.

Jeff and Kristi Mullersman, owners of local-favorite de.lish Cheesecake Bakery and Café, began following their dream when they opened their small restaurant in the old train station in Old Town Florissant. The Mullermans, who also live nearby, invested 50,000 to renovate the old building, and these days, they bake and serve more than 30 different kinds of cheesecake. They also have homemade quiches, muffins, signature cupcakes, cookies and more. Patch has been visiting de.lish since it opened, and we’ve never been disappointed. The Mullersmans are always happy to see their customers, and most of those customers agree that they make you feel like part of the family. In fact, in August, the Florissant community proved how much they enjoy the…

Local Restaurant Falls Sharply Behind in Contest After Some Say Opponents Purchased Votes

Talk around town is that the restaurant currently in the lead in the contest purchased YouTube views because it went from less than 1,800 views to nearly 50 thousand nearly overnight. Find out why it could be true.

In recent weeks, the Florissant Patch Facebook page has been abuzz with talk of a local business that has the opportunity to help put Florissant on the map—and to help grow their dream in the process. I’m talking about Jeff and Kristi Mullersman, owners of de.lish Cheesecake Bakery and Cafe in Old Town Florissant, who are nominees for a contest through Destination Guide's Best of St. Louis. Check out the Mullersmans’ story, right here. de.lish can win national coverage if the cafe gets the most votes by Feb. 4. All you have to do to cast your vote is to view an almost four-minute-long YouTube video. The local favorite was at or near the top of the list in votes for weeks—but then, one day, another St. Louis area restaurant suddenly blasted…

I know the contest is done and over with. But I wanted to make one more comment and ask people to think. This is really more a general thought than a direct comment on this situation. How many contests is it considered allowable to buy votes? What would we all say if the local mayor or governor or POTUS was found to have paid people to vote for him? If you were up for a promotion at work and …   more ›

Florissant Eatery Nominated for Destination Guide's Best of St. Louis Needs Your Help

The owners of Florissant-favorite de.lish Bakery and Cheesecake Cafe ask local residents to "vote" for them by simply viewing their interview on YouTube. We've got it for you, right here.

A Florissant couple is asking the community to help them take their business to the next level, and you'll barely have to lift a finger to do so. "We were filmed by Destination Guide's Best of St. Louis," said de.lish owner Jeff Mullersman. "They post it (on YouTube) and the St. Louis businesses featured compete for views." Mullersman said de.lish is the only nominee from the City of Florissant. "If we take the top spot, this would give us national tv coverage which is obviously good for us and Florissant," he said, adding that the community has been supportive of his business so far. "So, I'm asking for your help to bring some attention to it."  The video will be live through Feb. 4, Mullersman said.   Help out your neighbors and the …

"Florissant Patch" rounds up three locally-owned businesses that offer higher-end food options.

If you’re looking for high-end food choices, you don’t need to go to Clayton or Ladue. The City of Florissant is home to hundreds of small businesses, including several interesting, locally-owned specialty food establishments. Here are three of my favorites. Decadence for a de.lish price Craving a delicious slice of homemade cheesecake? Have a hankering for a Bavarian pretzel? Is a slice of quiche your ideal breakfast? If the answer to any (or all) of those questions is "yes," head to de.lish Cheesecake Bakery and Cafe, which recently opened in the historic narrow gauge train station at the corner of New Florissant Road and St. Catherine Street. When you're considering opening a small business, the first step is to decide exactly what you want your business to be--to develop a business concept.
