Forever in our Hearts

In several ways, pets act as our first children.

Like most of our friends, before we had kids we got a dog — our "trial child." She was a Dachshund and just two months old at the time. We picked her because despite having received all her shots that morning, she was still mischievous and played with the curtains and pooped on the carpet in the owner's living room. We named her Abby. Abby was our one and only. We loved her so much. We took her everywhere with us, let her sleep in bed with us and continued to buy her toys, even though it was her mission in life to destroy them. Before our son was born, we took a class on preparing your pet for children.
