St. Louis Community Credit Union Employee Pleads Guilty to Embezzlement

The employee embezzled approximately $104,755.

Jamie Askew pled guilty to embezzling approximately $104,755 from St. Louis Community Credit Union between July 2009 and May 2012. According to a press release, Askew, 36, Troy, IL, pled guilty to one felony count of embezzlement from a credit union, before United States District Judge Catherine D. Perry. Sentencing has been set for March 20, 2013. This charge carries a maximum penalty of 30 years in prison. In determining the actual sentences, a Judge is required to consider the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines, which provide recommended sentencing ranges.         This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.  First Assistant United States Attorney Michael W. North County Man Held Up Credit Union in Florissant, Police Say

Florissant Police said the man gave a St. Louis Community Credit Union teller a note demanding cash and stating he had a gun.

A North County man robbed St. Louis Community Credit Union at about 1:40 p.m. Dec. 5, Florissant Police said. Ronald D. Oliver, 32, of the 10400 block of Duke Drive in North County just east of Dellwood, was charged Friday with first-degree robbery in the incident at the credit union at 1250 Graham Road in Florissant. Florissant Police said Oliver handed the teller a note that demanded money and read that he had a weapon. Oliver left with $8,300 and was caught by police later. Credit Union Robbed Wednesday, Suspect on the Loose in Florissant/Hazelwood Area, Police Say

Police say the man escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash in a grocery bag. If you have information on the crime, you are urged to contact the Florissant Police Department immediately.

Florissant Police are on the lookout for a man who held up a credit union on Graham Road Wednesday, according to a report from CBS. A single male suspect came into the St. Louis Community Credit Union just after 1:30 p.m., when he infromed a teller he was robbing the place. The suspect implied he had a weapon but did not display it, according to CBS. The suspect left with a black and green recyclable grocery-type bag with a still-undetermined amount of money inside.
