Florissant Police Chief William Karabas Enjoys Retirement Party, Last Two Weeks of Service

The outgoing police chief enjoyed his retirement party on Sunday as he prepares to hand over the reins to incoming Chief Tim Lowery on Jan. 1.

Florissant Police Chief William Karabas, who announced his retirement earlier this year, enjoyed a retirement party on Sunday. Check out a video from the event at KMOV.com. Karabas has worked in law enforcement for 52 years and will serve his last day in office on Dec. 31. His replacement, Tim Lowery, will begin his duties on Jan. 1, 2013. Lowery was appointed the next police chief in August. Lowery has also served as acting mayor in the City of Florissant. Read more about the Florissant Police on Patch:

Let's hope we see a change in this police department under Chief Lowery. We are so disgusted with the negligence and the attitude of not wanting to do investigations into real crimes like child abuse. Chief Karabas, detectives Hale, Kiefer, Sgt. Biermann, and D.
