Florissant City Council Backs Grant Form for Old Town Improvements
The application would request for federal government support from the East-West Gateway Council of Governments.
Florissant City Council approved a resolution Monday night that would support the grant application submission to the East-West Gateway Council of Governments for improvements to Old Town Street and storm water drainage. The resolution endorses the council’s support for the application submission. The grant would help in improving infrastructure to North Lafayette Street between Washington Street and North Highway 67. It would tackle making storm sewer and curb and gutter improvements for storm water drainage issues and help with ADA compliant sidewalks and crosswalks for pedestrians. Happy to hear this grant application is on going. While Bob Garrett was the seated Councilman in Ward 6, he educated council and administration on all the problems within the Old Town grid that needed attention with it's infrastructure. The Historic District...unlike planned neighborhoods in the city had layers of material on all of their roads which elevated them higher than a residents property…   more ›
