Hazelwood Police said officers found the stolen debit cards and money orders bought from the Ferguson Walmart during a traffic stop.
A St. Louis man is accused of using a stolen debit card to buy $8,998 in money orders from the Ferguson Walmart. Precious Agobe, 28, of the 3200 block of Delor Street in South St. Louis, was charged May 16 with identity theft and fraudulent use of a credit card. During a traffic stop in the 7600 block of N. Lindbergh Boulevard on May 14, Hazelwood Police found a stolen debit card in the car. The officer also saw several money orders in Agobe’s wallet and receipts for the money orders in his pocket. Police said Agobe was recorded on video surveillance using the stolen debit card to buy $8,998 in money orders from the Walmart in Ferguson, according to a court document. Tyree Valdez and another person attempted to rob a person at North Hanley Drive and Santa Bella Drive, according to police.
A Florissant man is accused of holding a gun to a person’s head Saturday in Hazelwood and demanding money. Tyree Valdez, 26, of the 2700 block of Mullanphy Lane in Florissant, was charged Monday with first-degree attempted robbery and armed criminal action. Hazelwood Police said Valdez, acting with another, put a gun to a person’s head and demanded money at 10:10 p.m. Saturday on North Hanley Road at Santa Bella Drive. Police said when Valdez was arrested he had the handgun. Valdez is being held in the St. Louis County Justice Center. Bail was set at $100,000, cash only. A driver faces criminal charges after he struck a 6-year-old child in a Hazelwood hotel parking lot and left the scene Feb. 7. Michael Fulton, 52, of the 3900 block of Browning Drive in Florissant, was charged Feb. 8 with leaving the scene of an accident, a class D felony. Hazelwood Police reported that Fulton was driving in the Extended Stay America Hotel parking lot at 7350 Hanley Road when he struck the child with his vehicle. He then fled the scene, according to court documents. Fulton turned himself in to Hazelwood Police later that night, police said. Kenneth Wade was sentenced to seven years in prison for the Aug. 6, 2011 assault. Hazelwood Police said Wade and his son jumped a man in front of his house.
A Florissant man pleaded guilty to second-degree assault in the City of Hazelwood. The plea came during the second day of his trial, which was Tuesday. Kenneth Wade, 45, of the 1100 block of Verlene in Florissant, admitted he assaulted a young man at 2:43 a.m., on Aug. 6, 2011 in the 5300 block of Ville Angela in Hazelwood. A Florissant man hit a robbery victim in the head twice with an aluminum baseball bat before taking his cell phone, Hazelwood Police said. Police said Aaron Lawson, 20, followed the man to his residence Dec. 3 in the 1600 block of Ville Cecilia Lane in Hazelwood. Lawson attacked the resident when he got out of his car. Lawson also punched the man in the face, police said. Hazelwood Police said the man knew Lawson. The victim needed staples to close a gash in his head, according to a police report. A Florissant man was arrested after pointing a handgun at people on two consecutive days outside the StudioPlus Deluxe Studios, an extended stay hotel at 155 Chapel Ridge Road in Hazelwood. Kevin Ford, 43, of the 2600 block of Sorrell Drive in Florissant, was charged Tuesday with two counts of unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful possession of a weapon and resisting arrest. Hazelwood Police said in a report that Ford pointed a handgun at the first victim at about 9 p.m. Sunday outside the hotel. At about 8 p.m. Monday, he pointed a loaded a .38 cal Smith and Wesson revolver at a second person. Ford has two other felony convictions and is barred from possessing a gun, police said.
