Young dancers Take a Crack at 'The Nutcracker'
Two students participate in Joffrey Ballet’s production at the Fox Theatre.
Two local youth have roles to play when the Joffrey Ballet's production of The Nutcracker takes the stage at the Fox Theatre. Keron Foster, a senior at Hazelwood Central High School, appears in the television commercial for the production, which is also a part of the campaign for the 2010-2011 season of Dance St. Louis. Sixth-grader Bailey Carnes from Hazelwood West Middle School actually be in the production on Dec. 3 at 7:30 p.m., Dec 4 at 2 p.m. and Dec. 5 at 6 p.m. Foster said dance has been his life since he was 13. "I love contemporary dance, and I hoped to one day be on a big stage like the Fox Theater," he said. "Since The Nutcracker is about dance, I felt relaxed and a sense of wholeness.
