Apocalypse Friday: End of the World As We Know It? Florissant Feels Fine.

Local residents chime in on the Mayan calendar, preppers and more. Add your voice to the discussion.

As Dec. 21, 2012 rapidly approaches, two defined camps seem to be developing—those who believe the Mayan calendar predicts the end of the world, and those who think that it doesn't. Some are preparing for the worst—stockpiling food, water and supplies, putting together special shelters and more. Others are having “End of the World” parties on that (potentially) fateful day. Fortunately, NASA says it’s not going to happen, but since not everyone agrees, we asked our Facebook friends whether they believe that the world will end on Dec. 21. Poll: How Do You Feel About the Florissant Community?

Many residents on our site have commented that the city has undergone a big changing of the guard.

Many times on Florissant Patch, residents have commented that they don’t feel good about the Florissant and North County community as they once did when moving here. Despite the City of Florissant announcing the decreasing crime rate, residents and readers have continued to state the changing of the guard for the town. With recent incidents sparking a great deal of controversy and worry amongst residents, we’re asking for your input on this week’s poll. How do you feel about your town? What would you like to be changed or improved?

I have lived in Florissant all of my life. Have there been changes? Yes, and that is to be expected. What I see as a lack is the ability of the city to act proactively in establishing and or maintaining policies that would continue the viability of Florissant.
