Teen That Stashed Flat Screen TV in Bushes Later Arrested

Jabori Dixon, 17, was charged with second-degree burglary and misdemeanor theft after police say he stole a TV from a home in Florissant.

Neighbors called police after they spotted a man carrying a flat-screen television down the street in Florissant. Florissant Police officers arrested Jabori Terron Dixon, 17, of the 700 block of St. Anthony Lane in Florissant, and he was charged April 26 with second-degree burglary and misdemeanor stealing. Florissant Police said Dixon broke a window April 25 to get into a home in the 1100 block of South Waterford Drive. Witnesses said they saw Dixon carry a TV down a dead-end street and hide it in some bushes. Officers then saw Dixon, who matched a description provided by witnesses, enter his home in the 700 block of St. Anthony. Dixon is being held in St. Louis County jail. Bail was set at $15,000. Florissant Mom Saves Family from Carbon Monoxide Poisoning on Mother's Day

Firefighters said they think carbon monoxide began leaking into the house because the attic fan was running and the windows were closed, which caused the exhaust from the furnace to be pulled back into the house.

A mom was given the ultimate gift Sunday. She saved her family from a fatal situation. Florissant Police said a woman called for help upon finding family members unresponsive in their beds, according to STLtoday.com. She said she too was feeling nauseous. The call came through dispatch just before 8 a.m.  Police responded to the 3500 block of Stonehaven Dr., and said the mother and six people in the home, were exposed to elevated levels of carbon monoxide, according to KMOV. The police department, along with Florissant Valley Fire Protection District, found the woman carrying children out of the home. The victims ranged in age from less than 1 years old to 44, police said. All were conscious and responsive before being taken to area …

Man Charged With Stealing Rental Car From Florissant Business

Florissant Police said Tyron Spence did not return the vehicle to Hertz Rental Cars after one week, and it was recovered a month later.

A man who did not return a rental car to a Florissant business faces a car theft charge. Tyron Spence, 22, of the 5000 block of Beacon Avenue in the city of St. Louis, was charged Feb. 4 with stealing a motor vehicle. Florissant Police said Spence rented the car Feb. 19 from Hertz Rental Cars at 8201 North Lindbergh Blvd. in Florissant. Police said Spence purposely did not return the vehicle by Feb. 26 as agreed upon in the rental agreement. The car was recovered one month later. Florissant Man Bruised 5-Year-Old Son's Back, Police Say

A Florissant Police report says Christian Gander repeatedly hit his 5-year-old son, leaving bruises.

A Florissant man is accused of striking his 5-year-old son repeatedly and leaving bruises on the boy’s lower back. Christian Gander, 38, of the 1100 block of Sansu Lane, was charged April 12 with endangering the welfare of a child. Florissant Police said Gander struck the child, leaving bruises, at his home on Feb. 26, 2012. Man Charged With Breaking Into Two Florissant Businesses

Florissant Police said Rocco Mantro stole cash from Mame African Hair Braiding and ABC Wireless on Dunn Road.

A man was charged with breaking into two Florissant businesses and stealing cash. Rocco Kurtis Mantro, 30, of the 1400 block of West Duchesne Dr. in Florissant, was charged Thursday with second-degree burglary and two counts of misdemeanor theft. Florissant Police said Mantro broke into a building at 1249 Dunn Rd. at approximately 12:50 a.m. Jan 8. Police said he entered two suites, one occupied by Mame African Hair Braiding and another by ABC Wireless. Mantro is accused of stealing $100 from the hair braiding business and $40 from ABC Wireless. Mantro is being held in the St. Louis County Justice Center. Bail was set at $15,000. Coldwater Creek's Water Level Rising Due to Heavy Rain

Police are asking people to exercise caution.

Thursday afternoon, Florissant police asked residents to exercise caution near the creek area.  "Water continues to rise in Coldwater Creek," an alert from Florissant Police through Nixle said. "If you have a home or business along the creek, please be alert for rising water."  The National Weather Service forecast calls for heavy rains before 4 p.m. this afternoon, and it includes a flash flood watch. "Heavy rains could cause river levels to rise even higher than predicted," the alert said. 

Two Men Charged in Patterson Road Burglaries in Florissant

Florissant Police said Cody Garcia-Mauer broke into the Convenience One store Jan. 4 and Arlondo Whitfield joined him in a residential break-in later the same day.

Two men face burglary charges related to thefts along Patterson Road in Florissant. Cody Garcia-Mauer, 18, of the 2100 block of Crane Drive in Florissant, was charged April 8 with two counts each of second-degree burglary and misdemeanor theft. Arlondo L. Whitfield, 18, of the 6300 block of Hancock Avenue in Berkeley, was charged April 11 with second-degree burglary and misdemeanor theft. Florissant Police said Garcia-Mauer and Whitfield broke into a home in the 400 block of Patterson Rd., Jan. 4 and stole a bottle of liquor, a 12-pack of beer, a drill and a camera. Man Charged With Two Florissant Burglaries in February

Florissant Police said Barry Anderson and another man broke into homes on Sir Christopher Lane and Santiago Drive.

A man faces criminal charges on two burglaries in Florissant in February. Barry Anderson, 26, of the 5700 block of Cates Avenue in St. Louis, was charged March 2 with two counts each of second-degree burglary and felony theft. Florissant Police said Anderson acted with another man on both burglaries. Charges have not yet been filed on the second suspect. Feb. 1, the two entered a home in the 3000 block of Sir Christopher Lane and stole designer purses, a laptop, a flat-screen television and an iPad, police said. On Feb. 15, police reported that Anderson acted as a lookout as the other man entered a home in the 2900 block of Santiago Drive and stole a PlayStation 3, a flat-screen TV and a computer. An 18-year-old Florissant man faces criminal charges after police said he participated in a burglary at his neighbor’s home March 15. Cody Garcia-Mauer, 18, of the 2100 block of Crane Drive in Florissant, was charged Wednesday with second-degree burglary and misdemeanor stealing. Florissant Police said Garcia-Mauer acted as a lookout as another person broke into a house in the 2100 block of Crane Drive near Garcia-Mauer’s home on March 15. Police said a television and other items were stolen. Garcia-Mauer was being held Thursday in Florissant jail. Bail was set at $15,000. Cars Crash, One Overturns Near Dunn, Graham Roads

Florissant police said four people were taken to area hospitals.

A rollover car accident involving two cars happened at the intersection of Graham and Dunn roads Friday afternoon, according to a KMOV report. Two cars crashed and resulted in one of the cars overturning around 2:45 p.m. Four people were taken to area hospitals with non-life threatening issues, Florissant Police Officer spokesman Andy Haarman said. The cause of the accident remains under investigation. The accident has been cleared from the area, Haarman said. For other related articles, check out:
