Weekend Burglary, Vandalism at Youth Park: Florissant Commmunity Asked to Help Identify Perpetrators

The Florissant Area Athletic Association is asking for the community's help in catching the person or people who broke into the park late Friday or early Saturday morning.

A local youth sports organization is asking for your help to bring a criminal to justice. The Florissant Area Athletic Association’s (FAAA’s) park was broken into and vandalized late last week, according to the association’s VP of Special Projects and executive board member Matthew Schuler. “We are trying to spread the word to see if we can catch the person or persons,” Schuler said. “They broke into the north side of the main building  between 8:45 p.m. Friday and 10:30 a.m. Saturday morning.” Schuler said the burglars forced their way into the office and concession stand doors by prying locks and damaging door jams. “They also kicked in a door to another door in the concession stand area to gain access,” he said. “The only thing they …

One thing that attracted my family to Florissant when we were looking for our first house was the City of Florissant's parks system. With a great variety of small, neighborhood parks and larger community-style parks, Florissant has room to play for just about anyone. This summer, I am especially thankful for all the ballfields and open areas for my son to practice for his first year of baseball. I'd love to say I am not "one of those mom's," but my husband and I had been counting down the days until he was old enough to play on an organized team. Not because we are living vicariously through our son, but because he absolutely loves to play. He would …
