A Florissant man was charged with illegally possessing a firearm because he was convicted of a felony in 1993. Jesse Henderson, 44, of the 600 block of Materdei Lane in Florissant, was charged with illegally possession a weapon. Florissant Police responded to a disturbance call at Henderson’s home, and they discovered a Hi Point .380 cal handgun in the house. Henderson was convicted of sexual assault in 1993. Zachary Cook already faces felony child abuse charges and looks to be facing murder, too.
Local police have begun to seek murder charges against a Florissant man in the death of a three-year old boy. The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s office charged Zachary T. Cook, 22, of Florissant, with felony child abuse late last week. On May 5, police responded to a report of an injury to a child in the 2400 block of Blue Heron in Florissant. The child suffered a head injury and was taken to St. Louis Children’s Hospital, where he died from his injuries on Sunday. The police investigation reveals that the child sustained the injuries after being shaken.
