Update: Police Find Body of Elderly Dementia Patient
Florissant Police discovered the body of 84-year-old Emmit Clifton on Wednesday afternoon.
An elderly man, who wandered away from his health care facility on Tuesday, has been found dead. Florissant Police found the body of Emmit Clifton, 84, on Wednesday afternoon in a creek near New Halls Ferry Rd. and Greenway Chase Parkway. His family confirmed the body’s identity. Clifton was last seen at his residence in the Rancho Manor Care and Rehab Facility on Tuesday morning and was later reported missing. He suffered from stage 2 dementia. The St. Louis County Medical Examiner’s office will conduct an autopsy on the body to determine the cause of death. The Florissant Police Department said in an email that currently no foul play is suspected.
