Christopher Zomphier was driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs, according to a blood analysis.
A man who fled from Frontenac officers during a traffic stop and crashed into a guardrail was driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs, police said. Christopher Zomphier, 34, of the 500 block of Pelican Lane in Florissant, was charged Jan. 29 with resisting arrest and driving while intoxicated, combined with alcohol and drug intoxication. Frontenac Police said officers saw Zomphier driving on Interstate 64 near Ballas Road at about 1:58 a.m. May 26, and he kept drifting and failed to maintain a single lane. An officer pulled him over, but as he was walking towards his car, Zomphier sped away, according to a report. Allegations from a West St. Louis County mother saying her daughter may have been slipped a dangerous new synthetic drug called N-Bomb at a New Year's Eve party in Wildwood are being actively investigated. Capt. Ken Williams, commander of St. Louis County Police's Wildwood Precinct, confirmed with Patch the address of the associated party is within Wildwood's city limits. St. Louis County Police sent out a warning about the deadly hallucinogen after a West County parent said she believes her daughter may have been slipped N-Bomb at a New Year's Eve party and nearly overdosed.
St. Louis County Police are warning parents and teens about a new sythentic drug called "N-Bomb" that is already responsible for deaths in several states. The name stems from its chemical composition, 2C-I-NBOMe or 25INBOMe, and police say it is a powerful hallucinogen that is a more potent and deadly derivative of mescaline. The United States Department of Justice says Vincent Balducci, 41, and Raymond Moore, 32—both of Florissant—conspired to distribute cocaine and heroin. They face ten years to life in prison.
Two Florissant men have been indicted on charges they conspired, along with nine others, to distribute cocaine and heroin for years. According to the United States Department of Justice release, Vincent Balducci, 41, and Raymond Moore, 32—both of Florissant—helped distribute the drugs as early as 2009 and continuing into 2012. Other defendants expected to appear in federal court include: The applied charges carry a penalty of ten years to life in prison. A Black Jack man faces criminal charges after police said he had heroin during a traffic stop in June. Tamaroff J. Yeager, 30, of the 12700 block of Broadridge in Black Jack, was charged Friday with intent to sell heroin. St. Louis County Police said they pulled Yeager over for a traffic violation at 12:30 a.m. June 12 near Jacobi Avenue in unincorporated North County east of Dellwood. A computer check showed Yeager had outstanding warrants for his arrest. During a search, officers said they found a gray, rock-like substance and capsules filled with off-white powder. A Florissant man faces drug charges after police said he possessed chemicals that he intended to use to make methamphetamine. Sean Mann, 40, of the 2700 block of Mockingbird Lane in Florissant, was charged Thursday with possessing chemicals with intent to make meth. Florissant Police said during a search of Mann’s residence July 28, 2011, they found 93 tablets of pseudoephedrine, two boxes of pseudoephedrine tablets, drain cleaner, Coleman camp fuel and a two-quart Mason jar in his basement bedroom. St. Louis County Police and drug treatment professionals were in Maryland Heights to talk about heroin's dangers Thursday night.
St. Louis County Police Chief Tim Fitch once talked with a young woman arrested for buying heroin. She was from Ballwin, and told Finch she got hooked because she was battling depression. The first time she tried it, according to Fitch, she got a high that she hasn’t been able to achieve since. According to a heroin addiction website, one of the drug's most insidious qualities is that is sends the addict on a quest to repeat that first high, usually a fruitless journey. Heroin addiction isn’t a light switch you can turn off and on, Fitch told a crowded audience at Pattonville High School Thursday night. Fitch was part of a public forum about heroin use among teens. Pharmacy robbery suspect arrested Wednesday.
On Tuesday morning, a man with a handgun robbed a Home Care Pharmacy, 1224 Graham Road, for its drugs. After receiving them, the man ran out of the building. No one was injured. The following day, detectives gathered enough information to lead to the arrest of Robert Clark, 35. Clark confessed upon arrest and turned in the weapon used as well. Police charged Clark with 1st degree robbery and armed criminal action. He was transferred to the St. Louis County jail.
