As you’re decorating your home for the holidays this year, the City of Florissant has a message for you: don’t throw those old or broken Christmas lights in the trash. Recycle them instead--for free. In cooperation with Meridian Waste, the city will place a recycling container at the St. Ferdinand Park recycling center specifically for old holiday lights on Dec. 1. The container will remain available through March 1, 2013, the mayor’s office said. Connect with Florissant Patch on Facebook and plug in to your community in real-time!
