Parents Get Probation For Hitting Daughter With Pipe, Wooden Poles

Angelia and Keith Brown were placed on two years probation, must attend parenting classes and comply with directives from the state Children's Division.

A North County couple was put on two years probation after pleading guilty to hitting their 14-year-old daughter with PVC pipe and wooden poles. Angelia and Keith Brown, of the 2000 block of Shoreham Drive in unincorporated North County west of Spanish Lake, pleaded guilty Thursday to third-degree assault, a class A misdemeanor. The original charge was child abuse, a class C felony. Circuit Court Judge Michael D. Burton sentenced the Browns to two years probation, they must attend parenting classes and they must follow all directives from the Missouri Children’s Division. Florissant Man Bruised 5-Year-Old Son's Back, Police Say

A Florissant Police report says Christian Gander repeatedly hit his 5-year-old son, leaving bruises.

A Florissant man is accused of striking his 5-year-old son repeatedly and leaving bruises on the boy’s lower back. Christian Gander, 38, of the 1100 block of Sansu Lane, was charged April 12 with endangering the welfare of a child. Florissant Police said Gander struck the child, leaving bruises, at his home on Feb. 26, 2012. Child Abuse Charges Tied to 'Most Wanted' Fugitive

This former Florissant man is on St. Louis County's Most Wanted list. To report a sighting of any of the following Most Wanted Fugitives, call 314-615-4692 or contact St. Louis Regional CrimeStoppers at 866-371-8477 (TIPS).

Officers for the St. Louis County Police Department website update the Most Wanted list as fugitives are apprehended. The list currently includes suspects wanted for statutory sodomy, unlawful uses of weapons, burglary, attempted child enticement, robbery, child kidnapping, stealing, forgery, assault of law officers, statutory rape and domestic assault. Among current suspects is Deshawn Brown, whose photo accompanies this article. His last known address was in Florissant, and he is wanted for child abuse. He is 32 years old. Murder Charges Sought Against Florissant Man

Zachary Cook already faces felony child abuse charges and looks to be facing murder, too.

Local police have begun to seek murder charges against a Florissant man in the death of a three-year old boy. The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s office charged Zachary T. Cook, 22, of Florissant, with felony child abuse late last week. On May 5, police responded to a report of an injury to a child in the 2400 block of Blue Heron in Florissant. The child suffered a head injury and was taken to St. Louis Children’s Hospital, where he died from his injuries on Sunday. The police investigation reveals that the child sustained the injuries after being shaken. The three-year-old as well as another young child was in the care of Cook at the time of the incident, according to Sgt. Kevin Boschert of the Florissant Police Department. The …
