A Nixon White House in 2016? Possible, Some Pundits Say

It's a bit early, but Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon's name is being bandied about as part of a Democratic ticket in 2016.

As Gov. Jay Nixon and Sen. Claire McCaskill led a blue resurgence in a red state in 2012, some started mixing mentions of the Missouri governor with the year 2016. St. Louis Post Dispatch columnist Bill McClellan may have been among the first to suggest a Democratic Nixon taking run at White House. Nixon were to run for president in 2016, he would use the Bill Clinton model from 1992 and run as a centrist or moderate,” said David Kimball, professor of political science at the University of Missouri–St. Louis. Election 2011

Back in the Saddle

Andrew Podleski attempts his second run at mayoral seat.

The 2011 Florissant mayoral race isn’t the first rodeo for Ward 6 City Councilman and candidate Andrew Podleski. In the 2007 election, Podleski challenged incumbent Mayor Robert Lowery for his seat and earned more than 40 percent of the vote. Although he lost the race, Podleski kept his aspirations alive by running and winning the Ward 6 city council seat in 2008.  Now in the midst of a six-person race for office, Podleski said his opponents are riding on his coattails of topics such as transparency in government, balancing the budget and keeping funds separate. School Board Candidate Ready for Dedication to Students

Ferguson-Florissant candidate Chris Martinez said focus should be on students and making sure they thrive in the district.

Chris Martinez  How many children do you have?  I have three kids in the district: a daughter, 5, in kindergarten, another daughter who is 7 and in the first grade, and our son is 14 and a freshman at McCluer North High School.   What issues are important to the Ferguson-Florissant School Board?
