Jabori Dixon, 17, was charged with second-degree burglary and misdemeanor theft after police say he stole a TV from a home in Florissant.
Neighbors called police after they spotted a man carrying a flat-screen television down the street in Florissant. Florissant Police officers arrested Jabori Terron Dixon, 17, of the 700 block of St. Anthony Lane in Florissant, and he was charged April 26 with second-degree burglary and misdemeanor stealing. Florissant Police said Dixon broke a window April 25 to get into a home in the 1100 block of South Waterford Drive. Witnesses said they saw Dixon carry a TV down a dead-end street and hide it in some bushes. Officers then saw Dixon, who matched a description provided by witnesses, enter his home in the 700 block of St. Anthony. Dixon is being held in St. Louis County jail. Bail was set at $15,000. In Des Peres last week, a handful of cars and homes were burglarized in a residential neighborhood—a serious enough "spree" that the city blasted an email and text alert to the neighborhoods. As it happens, the burglar got into some unlocked cars, used the garage door opener and walked into a pair of houses in which the inside door was not locked. The report brought on this comment from a reader: "A person would not lock their car outside overnight (or anytime) because? And with a home garage door opener and valuables inside? Florissant Police said Rocco Mantro stole cash from Mame African Hair Braiding and ABC Wireless on Dunn Road.
A man was charged with breaking into two Florissant businesses and stealing cash. Rocco Kurtis Mantro, 30, of the 1400 block of West Duchesne Dr. in Florissant, was charged Thursday with second-degree burglary and two counts of misdemeanor theft. Florissant Police said Mantro broke into a building at 1249 Dunn Rd. at approximately 12:50 a.m. Jan 8. Police said he entered two suites, one occupied by Mame African Hair Braiding and another by ABC Wireless. Mantro is accused of stealing $100 from the hair braiding business and $40 from ABC Wireless. Mantro is being held in the St. Louis County Justice Center. Bail was set at $15,000. Florissant Police said Cody Garcia-Mauer broke into the Convenience One store Jan. 4 and Arlondo Whitfield joined him in a residential break-in later the same day.
Two men face burglary charges related to thefts along Patterson Road in Florissant. Cody Garcia-Mauer, 18, of the 2100 block of Crane Drive in Florissant, was charged April 8 with two counts each of second-degree burglary and misdemeanor theft. Arlondo L. Whitfield, 18, of the 6300 block of Hancock Avenue in Berkeley, was charged April 11 with second-degree burglary and misdemeanor theft. Florissant Police said Garcia-Mauer and Whitfield broke into a home in the 400 block of Patterson Rd., Jan. 4 and stole a bottle of liquor, a 12-pack of beer, a drill and a camera. St. Louis County Police said Tyler Booth also illegally entered the home in Jennings intending to attack a person in the hosue.
A North County man is charged with assaulting another man and damaging a car in Jennings. Tyler Booth, 36, of the 1000 block of Saratoga Springs in St. Louis County north of Florissant, was charged Saturday with first-degree burglary, third-degree assault and first-degree property damage. St. Louis County Police said Booth illegally entered a home in the 7000 block of Idlewind Avenue in Jennings at Saturday to assault a person in the home. Police said he punched one person and then went outside and threw a rock at a 2012 Cadillac, causing more than $750 in damage to the car. Booth is being held in St. Louis County jail. Florissant Police said Barry Anderson and another man broke into homes on Sir Christopher Lane and Santiago Drive.
A man faces criminal charges on two burglaries in Florissant in February. Barry Anderson, 26, of the 5700 block of Cates Avenue in St. Louis, was charged March 2 with two counts each of second-degree burglary and felony theft. Florissant Police said Anderson acted with another man on both burglaries. Charges have not yet been filed on the second suspect. Feb. 1, the two entered a home in the 3000 block of Sir Christopher Lane and stole designer purses, a laptop, a flat-screen television and an iPad, police said. On Feb. 15, police reported that Anderson acted as a lookout as the other man entered a home in the 2900 block of Santiago Drive and stole a PlayStation 3, a flat-screen TV and a computer. An 18-year-old Florissant man faces criminal charges after police said he participated in a burglary at his neighbor’s home March 15. Cody Garcia-Mauer, 18, of the 2100 block of Crane Drive in Florissant, was charged Wednesday with second-degree burglary and misdemeanor stealing. Florissant Police said Garcia-Mauer acted as a lookout as another person broke into a house in the 2100 block of Crane Drive near Garcia-Mauer’s home on March 15. Police said a television and other items were stolen. Garcia-Mauer was being held Thursday in Florissant jail. Bail was set at $15,000. A man led Florissant Police on a high-speed chase Feb. 24, running red lights and passing on the left into oncoming traffic, all with a 3-year-old child in the car. Daryl Greer, 20, of the 9700 block of Dennis Drive in North County, was charged Feb. 24 with first-degree endangering a child, resisting arrest and driving while revoked. Florissant Police said an officer tried to pull Greer’s car over for careless and imprudent driving at Washington Street and eastbound Interstate 270. Greer fled at a high speed, passing cars by swerving into oncoming traffic and running red lights, according to a court document. One man pointed a gun at the door while three others forced their way into the home, punching and kicking another man, Ferguson Police reported.
Four men forced their way into a Ferguson house Feb. 25 and assaulted the homeowner, police said. Three of the men were charged Feb. 26 with first-degree burglary and third-degree assault. They are: A fourth man, Maurice Boone, 29, of the 100 block of Fenwick Drive in Ferguson, was charged with unlawful use of a weapon. Ferguson Police said Maurice Boone stood in a yard in the 1100 block of Renshaw Drive in Ferguson and pointed a handgun at the man’s door as the others entered the home and assaulted the victim. St. Louis County Police said a North County man drove at officers attempting to arrest him for a burglary and car theft in North County. Lorenzo Williams, 20, of the 8700 block of Culpepper Drive in North County, was charged Feb. 28 with second-degree burglary, felony stealing, tampering with a motor vehicle, resisting arrest and two counts of assaulting an officer. Williams, who lives near the burglarized home, is the second person charged in the burglary. St. Louis County Police said officers attempted to arrest Williams Jan. 11 and identified themselves. Agreed. Just because a thief or vandal else clearly does wrong, does not mean the victim is necessarily "right" or blameless. It also doesn't mean they have equal blame or most of it. Such black and white thinking on this board. Sometimes victims couldn't have done anything better. Sometimes we can all learn something from the situation...like locking things up and keeping valuables out of sight. more ›
