Florissant Police Blotter

Several burglaries, a robbery and a couple of thefts took place in the Florissant area last week.

July 13 Police responded to a second-degree burglary in the 2700 block of Monfort. The thieves entered the apartment through a rear glass patio door. At the time of publication, it’s not known what was taken from the residence. A motor vehicle theft occurred in the 3200 block of Cross Keys Dr. The thief stole a 2006 white Dodge Stratus. Police didn’t have any suspects at the time of publication. July 15 A second-degree burglary attempt occurred in the 1500 block of Starling. The thief entered the home through an unlocked garage door, but the attempt to force open an interior door was unsuccessful. The thief could not enter the home, according to the report. Florissant Police Blotter

Burglaries and break-ins continue in Florissant.

June 15 Someone broke a rear window to gain entry into a residence in the 100 block of St. Antoine Street. Three flat-screen televisions were taken. Two vehicles, a Chevy Lumina and a Buick Regal, were broken into and the ignitions were removed in an attempt to steal them. The vehicles were parked in the 3200 block of Cross Keys Drive and the 3100 block of Cross Keys Place. June 15 Someone forced a rear door open to gain entry into a residence in the 2500 block of Dove Drive. A laptop, iPod, camera, cellphone and jewelry were taken. June 17 A black male who was approximately 6 feet tall, 170 pounds and in his mid 20s entered a store in the 200 block of North Highway 67 and stole items from a locked case. Florissant Police Blotter

More burglaries occur in residences around town.

June 9 Police responded to a second-degree burglary in the 1600 block of Crosby. Thieves stole copper pipes from a vacant residence. Police haven’t announced any suspects in the case. June 10 Residents reported a second-degree burglary in the 600 block of St. Marie. Thieves forced open the rear door and stole a TV and jewelry from the residence. June 12 A second-degree burglary took place in the 1000 block of Wycomb. The resident left their house to return and found someone had broken into it. A flat screen TV and two video game consoles were stolen. No signs of forced entry have been discovered, and police have no suspects.

Does anyone know what the regulations are on fireworks within the city? I know they used to only be allowed during certain hours for a few days right around the Fourth of July holiday, but I have been hearing more and more fireworks being shot off in my neighborhood lately and was wondering if maybe the regulations may have changed to be more lenient or if we just need to get a better police …   more ›
