A North County man is accused of intentionally struck a man with his truck March 18 in the 3500 block of Welland Avenue in Bridgeton. Daniel Wilmas, 50, of the 12900 block of Eadstone Lane in North County between Florissant and Black Jack, was charged March 20 with second-degree assault and armed criminal action. Bridgeton Police said Wilmas knew the victim, who suffered a closed head injury, cervical, thoracic and lumbar strains, and bruises on his right wrist and knee. Tyree Valdez and another person attempted to rob a person at North Hanley Drive and Santa Bella Drive, according to police.
A Florissant man is accused of holding a gun to a person’s head Saturday in Hazelwood and demanding money. Tyree Valdez, 26, of the 2700 block of Mullanphy Lane in Florissant, was charged Monday with first-degree attempted robbery and armed criminal action. Hazelwood Police said Valdez, acting with another, put a gun to a person’s head and demanded money at 10:10 p.m. Saturday on North Hanley Road at Santa Bella Drive. Police said when Valdez was arrested he had the handgun. Valdez is being held in the St. Louis County Justice Center. Bail was set at $100,000, cash only. A St. Louis man was charged with Monday’s shooting of a 53-year-old owner of 3one4 Barbershop in unincorporated North County. Terrence E. Clark, 28, of the 3100 block of Rauschenbach in St. Louis, was charged Tuesday with first-degree assault and armed criminal action. St. Louis County Police officers responded to the shooting at 12:46 p.m. Monday, and received information that a white Malibu was leaving the scene. Officers spotted the car and pursued it to the 3500 of Cora Drive in the city of St. Louis. Police said Clark left the car and fled on foot, leading officers in a brief foot chase before he was caught and arrested. Two people were charged with the murder of a man who was found dead in a pickup truck parked in Ferguson’s January-Wabash Park Saturday. James Miller, 52, of the 1200 block of Fargo Drive in Ferguson, and Deborah A Lewis, 55, of the 2500 block of Ada Avenue, were charged Sunday with first-degree murder and armed criminal action. A Major Case Squad investigation determined that Miller and Lewis killed Byron Poindexter by shooting him in the head at Lewis’ home in Jennings, according to court documents. According to a court document, Lewis told investigators the plan was to make the shooting look like a suicide. Miller and Lewis are being held without bond in St. Louis County jail. Florissant Police said Joshua Cosby robbed J&N Market, a BP gas station and an Arby's restaurant in January and February.
A North County man is accused of three armed robberies at Florissant stores in January and February. Joshua Cosby, 30, of the 12600 block of Verwood Drive in North County east of Black Jack, was charged Feb. 27 with three counts of first-degree robbery and three counts of armed criminal action. Florissant Police said Cosby was responsible for the following robberies: He stole cash in all three robberies, police said. Cosby is being held in St. Louis County jail. Bail was set at $100,000. Rhonda Rhodes is charged with stabbing Bernice Winston to death in Winston's apartment. Rhodes was found in the apartment with Winston's body Thursday morning, police said.
A Ferguson woman faces first-degree murder charges in the stabbing death of her aunt, Bernice Winston on Thursday. Rhonda Rhodes, 50, was charged Friday with first-degree murder and armed criminal action. Winston, 60, of Ferguson, was found dead in her apartment Thursday morning, having been stabbed multiple times, according to a Ferguson Police report. Rhodes was found sitting in the apartment, according to Ferguson Police. She is being held in St. Louis County jail. Bail was set at $250,000. Two men initially refused to give the men their possessions and were hit with the baton, St. Louis County said.
Two men burst into a North County residence with a metal baton and robbed five people inside the home on Monday, St. Louis County Police said. Police said Jonathan Q. Phillips, 24, and another man broke into the home in the 15600 block of 94th Ave. near Vaile Avenue and Old Halls Ferry Road. They forced five people inside to get down on the floor. Two North County men robbed and shot a Dellwood resident during a drug deal Dec. 23, St. Louis County Police said. Police said that Kai Bowers, 17, of the 4300 block of Vandals Drive south of Black Jack, arranged on Facebook to meet the victim to sell him drugs. Bowers went to the home in the 1600 block of Chesley drive in Dellwood with Dion Price, 17, of the 5200 block of Abington Drive in Black Jack. When Bowers and Price arrived at the home, Price pulled out a handgun and asked for the money. When the victim refused, Price shot him in the leg, according to the St. Louis County Police report. A man hit his girlfriend in the head with a two-by-four wooden plank and punched another man Friday, Florissant Police said. Kevin Booker, 46, of the 2700 block of Countryside Drive, was charged Saturday with second-degree domestic assault, third-degree assault and armed criminal action. Florissant Police said the incident took place at the couple’s home on Countryside. Booker is being held in St. Louis County jail. Bail was set at $35,000, cash only. A man robbed two people at gunpoint Friday in Florissant’s Dunegant Park, 1930 Derhake Road, police said. Florissant Police said Quan Rhodes, 20, approached two people in the park, pulled a handgun and demanded cell phones, cash and anything valuable they had. He took a woman’s keys and stole her red, 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier, police said. Officers spotted the stolen car and pursued it, attempting to stop it. Rhodes struck a patrol car during the pursuit. Rhodes was charged Friday with first-degree robbery and armed criminal action. Rhodes is being held in St. Louis County jail. Bail was set at $100,000. I live in Hazelwood and this is disturbing to me. Something needs to be done to put the fear of God into these criminals otherwise it will keep repeating. Our jails and prisons are not tough enough.
