Florissant Patch Editor Aja Junior to Return This Week

After giving birth to a beautiful and healthy baby boy, your local editor is ready to jump back into the game.

As you might already be aware, Florissant Patch editor Aja Junior has been away since October getting to know her new son. I had lunch with Aja and her baby boy last week and my first thought was that besides being absolutely adorable and surprisingly well-behaved, he looks like a perfect combination of his mom and dad. While I know that she will miss being with her family full-time, I’m also sure she’s very excited to jump back into her role as your editor. Connect with Florissant Patch on Facebook and plug into your community! As we prepare for Aja's return, I want to take this opportunity to thank the community for supporting me and sticking with us during my time as interim editor. Specifically, I’d like to thank Officer Andy Haarmann …

A New Baby Brings Florissant Patch a New Interim Editor

Patch editor Aja Junior and her husband have had their first baby. We've got photos and information on the baby for you. Plus:an intro to your interim editor, Angela Atkinson.

As you might know, Florissant Patch editor Aja Junior and her husband Robert Williams have been preparing for a pretty exciting event—the birth of their new baby. Welcome to the World, Robbie Williams! What you may not know is that Robert Anthony Williams, Jr. came into the world on Nov. 8. Little Robbie weighed in at 7 pounds. He’s healthy and beautiful, and he and his parents are getting to know each other at home. Mom and Dad are understandably exhausted as they get used to their new schedule, but both Aja and Robert are absolutely thrilled to finally have their son home and, between you and me, they’re both going to be amazing parents. “Just feeling really blessed and so in love with my baby boy,” Aja posted on her personal Facebook …

Merrily Married

Going From the Miss to the Mrs.

While getting closer to the one-year mark, the adjustment to the new role (and name) continues to have problems.

Aja Jonelle Williams. I still can’t get used to that name. It’s been more than six months, and I thought it would be much easier to sign my name correctly or—at the very least—remember it. But it hasn’t been that easy. More importantly, balancing my new role hasn’t been the easiest. Among the number of adjustments to the first year, none are bigger than figuring me out. Okay, I have to confess. Part of what inspired this column was Kim Kardashian’s rant heard around the world about how she didn’t know who she was in her marriage that lasted all of 72 days. I would like to argue and show that no one knows who they are in the first year. That’s kind of the point. Granted, I know who I am as an individual, but right now is about finding out …

Chasity: Thanks for that boost of encouragement. It's definitely taking some time to figure out things, but I'm confident we're moving in the right direction. I'll be excited to find out what my role is. :)   more ›

Merrily Married

A New Baby of the Family

With people wondering when a baby might be on the way, we're already in training to be parents.

With being married for just a little bit more than month, there’s a question that seems to be circulating in everyone’s mind: When are you all having a baby? I guess when you make one giant leap into life that you’re expected to make the next one pretty soon?  It’s one of the most popular questions that people ask upon meeting us. In case you’re wondering, the answer is, no time soon. That’s not to say we don’t want children whatsoever, but it’s more of a thing that we want to be as prepared as we possibly can be.  There are a number of factors to look at when we discuss this: School: My husband remains pursuing his degree at this time, and I’m thinking of returning to school part-time to work on a master’s degree. Therefore, between both …
