Sacred Heart Kindergarten Turns 50, Sunday Celebration Set

A mass, an open house, refreshments and old memorabilia will commemorate 50 years of history bringing it to the present on Sunday, from 9 a.m. to noon.

Sacred Heart Catholic School is celebrating its 50th anniversary Sunday, Sept. 29 with a 9 a.m., mass followed by an open house in the kindergarten building. 

A reception with coffee, lemonade and donuts will follow in the Parish Hall from 10 a.m. to noon. Guests are also invited to visit the Kindergarten Garden across the street.

The Archdiocese allowed Fr. Ed  Schlattmann to open a kindergarten in the old school building back in 1964 and has steadily grown it enrollment size.

Currently 149 children are enrolled in the 3 year old, pre-kindergarten and kindergarten classrooms for the 2013-2014 school year. 

More than 40 current and former teachers have expressed their intent to visit with former students, parents and friends at Sunday's celebration.
