Little Creek Nature Preserve Homecoming is Saturday

In the midst of food trucks on Friday and a fall festival on Sunday is a little nature.

Little Creek Nature Area is hosting  homecoming festivities on Saturday, Oct. 12, with lots of free family entertainment.

The event will take place at Little Creek Nature Area, located at 2295 Dunn Rd., from 8 a.m. to noon. There will be guided tours of the nature area’s trails, bird watching with Audubon Society experts, a scavenger hunt and refreshments. 

The World Bird Sanctuary will also release a rehabilitated bird, and the St. Louis County Library System will be out and have a children’s storytime.

The Ferguson-Florissant School District owns and managers the 96-acre nature reserve those familiar call an outdoor classroom.

The property also includes a working farm, a butterfly garden, an arboretum, a restored prairie, a museum and a 19th-century log cabin.
