Flower Valley Quilt Show is Sept. 28-29

The featured quilter is Teajuana Mahone, who joined the Flower Valley Quilting Guild in 2001, and is the founder of Scrap Quilt.

The Flower Valley Quilting Guild will hold its 15 biennial show on Saturday, Sept. 28 from 10 a.m.  to 4 p.m., and on Sunday, Sept. 29 from noon to 4 p.m. 

Atonement Lutheran church, located at 1285 New Florissant Rd., will serve as the show site.

The show will feature approximately 300 quilted items including full-size quilts, wall hangings, miniatures and clothing. Also featured will be quilting demonstrations. Quilt appraiser Ann Hazelwood will be at the show, as well.

The guild will also hold a drawing for a raffle quilt on Sunday afternoon. The quilt,  is called “Circle of Friends” and local art quilter Drew Benage designed the piece. A group of guild members crafted it. 

If you are interested in the raffle quilt, tickets may be purchased at the door during the quilt show. There will also be a vendors aisle featuring fabric, patterns, books and accessories.

The Atonement Men’s Club Barbecue wagon will have food and concessions on site during both days of the show for sale.

A donation of $7 requested for those over 18.

The Flower Valley Quilt Guild meets every third thursday of the month starting at 7 p.m. The meetings take place at the Zion Lutheran Church, located at 123 Carson Rd., in Ferguson.
