North County Teams Batter Up in All-Star Game

Two Ferguson-Florissant baseball players showcased their talents in the recent game.

Three high school seniors, including two Ferguson-Florissant student athletes, participated in the third annual SmilesLEAGUE Coaches’ Choice High School Seniors All-Star baseball game hosted by Delta Dental of Missouri and the St. Louis Cardinals.

David Brittingham of McCluer North and Ramon Henderson of McCluer South-Berkeley played in the game. The event served as a great day for students to show their athletic ability, but it also served as a way to promote having a tobacco-free lifestyle.

Monica Green, manager of corporate communications for Delta Dental of Missouri commented on the mission behind the All-Star game, “Tobacco use is the single most preventable cause of death and disease in the United States. It can cause health-related problems for teens at an early age, including periodontal disease, coughing, shortness of breath and other issues related to nicotine addiction."
