The win helped the HAwks claim a piece of the Suburban North Conference.

According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Hazelwood Central saw a 16-point third-quarter advantage nearly disappear in the fourth quarter and then held on as Riverview standout Tyrin Williams’ off-balanced 3-point attempt from the right wing at the buzzer hit the back of the iron and bounced away.

Central moved to 17-6 on the season with a perfect 6-0 conference record.

The Hawks have just three games remaining on the regular season schedule: Wednesday at Eureka; Friday vs. Hazelwood West; and Feb. 22 at Jefferson City.
