Game Preview: McCluer, McCluer North Seeking First Win

McCluer and McCluer North head into their rivalry game with 0-1 records. They will meet at McCluer North at 11 a.m..

It was a very rough opening weekend last week for Florissant-area football teams, but for and a chance to get back on track awaits on Saturday. The rivals will meet at 11 a.m at McCluer North.

This , but school administrators decided to move up the game time because of the extreme heat that is forecasted to continue on Saturday.

Last week, McCluer fell 50-12 at Webster Groves, while . The teams played on the same date (Sept. 3) last season as North won, 28-7.

If veteran coach veteran coach Jim Schottmueller and the Stars are to win this rivalry game again, they need quarterback Galen Brown to be productive. Brown rushed for 44 yards against Jeff City last week while completing 6-of-16 passes for 45 yards as North was stifled by the big and fast Jeff City defense.

For McCluer coach Joe Henke, he needs his passing game to unleash itself. Junior QB Berlin Hollomon threw for 1,173 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2010. His primary target is senior 6 foot, 4 inch receiver Darrion Dillard, who caught 32 passes for 700 yards and 8 scores last season. But they did little against Webster last week.
