Vogt Elementary Named a 2013 Monsanto School of Excellence

The St. Louis American Foundation awards the title to schools with proven increases in state test scores, a focus on STEM education and parent engagement.

Hard work can pay off, and that's what students at Vogt Elementary have learned after the Ferguson-Florissant School District community received the 2013 Monsanto School of Excellence Award.

The St. Louis American Foundation awards schools with the title when they have worked towards increases in state assessment scores, have a focus on science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education, and emphasize parent engagement.

Last year, the school’s fifth-graders achieved a 45.9 percent increase in mathematics scores, according to the school district. The school also had a 35.9 percent increase in communication arts scores and a 30.7 percent increase in science scores.
