Hazelwood Central Receives Interim Principal
Hazelwood Board of Education approves Hazelwood West assistant principal Cheryol Mitchell to take the reins of the Hawks.
The Board of Education approved an interim principal for for the upcoming 2011-2012 school year.
The school board approved Cheryol Mitchell to serve as the Hawks interim principal on Tuesday. She has served previously as the assistant principal at Hazelwood West High School.
In May, the board of education promoted previous principal to assistant superintendent for learning in the district.

Mitchell has worked in education for the previous 25 years and has served as an assistant principal in Hazelwood Central High School before her stint at Hazelwood West.
“Dr. Mitchell will be an excellent leader for Hazelwood Central High School,” Superintendent Steve Price said in a press release. “She has an extensive background in education, particularly in administration at the high school level. She is well-known and respected by the HCHS community, having been a leader in the building for two years.”

Mitchell’s new position becomes effective immediately.
