Grant Aids Ferguson-Florissant's STEM Program

Thanks to a grant by the Express Scripts Foundation, students in the will get the opportunity to further their learning in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).

received a grant for more than $47,000 from the foundation, which will benefit an initiative with elementary students of the Ferguson-Florissant School District, according to a press release.

"The Magic House is dedicated to supporting and enhancing classroom learning," President Beth Fitzgerald said in a press release. "Express Scripts' generous contribution will allow us to bring hands-on science and math education to all Ferguson-Florissant elementary teachers, students and families to have a concerted impact on STEM education in the district." 

The grant will allow for development workshops for staff members, outreach in classrooms and STEM celebrations for families for all 17 elementary schools in the district.

"The Magic House has demonstrated its ability to make science and math education relevant and accessible to all children," Susan Schlichter, Executive Director of the Express Scripts Foundation, said.  "We also know that the Ferguson-Florissant School District is dedicated to improving educational outcomes and providing the skills and knowledge necessary for its students to succeed in careers and in life. We believe our partnership will create new opportunities for children, their teachers and their families. The Express Scripts Foundation is pleased to support this innovative program."

The Ferguson-Florissant District was excited with the community partnership that will benefit its students, too.
