Election Filing Opens for Ferguson-Florissant, Hazelwood Board Seats
Interested parties have a chance to campaign for one of two seats in each district.
As 2011 nears to an end, planning for 2012 elections has gotten underway.
Filing for seats on the and boards of education.
The seats of Paul Schroeder and Brian Fletcher will be up in the Ferguson-Florissant district, while Mark Behlmann and Desiree Whitlock’s seats in the Hazelwood will have their current terms up for election in the April 3 election.

Filing opens Dec. 13 and closes at 5 p.m. Jan. 17.
For interested parties, the Ferguson-Florissant School District offices will be closed Dec. 20 through Dec. 30 and Jan. 2, while the Hazelwood School District will be closed Dec. 22 through Jan. 2 for the holidays.

For those interested in filing for one of the seats, they must fulfill the following requirements:
- A citizen of the United States
- At least 24 years old
- A resident taxpayer of the school district
- A resident of the state of Missouri for at least one year
- File a declaration of candidacy
