Early Childhood Enrollment Open in Florissant

For parents thinking ahead to the next school year for their young children, both area school districts are open to enrolling students for preschool.

Preschool and full-time childcare enrollment for children is currently open and rolling in the and .

In the Ferguson-Florissant district, enrollment for preschool opened March 1. Preschool includes part-time options for three and four year olds. Three year olds attend for two mornings a week, and four year olds can attend either four afternoons a week or three mornings a week.

The district also offers full-day childcare for two-, three- and four-year-old children, and families do not have to live in the district to attend.

In the Hazelwood School District, the early education program runs as a lottery for its three-half day sessions per week or four-half day sessions per week. Children must be three years old by July 31, 2012.
