U.S. Senate Hopeful Todd Akin Casts His Vote in Wildwood

It was a bright and early election selection for Todd Akin, and his wife, Lulli, who both voted at a polling place hosted at StarBridge Christian Center in Wildwood.

Enthusiasm, spirit and passion are the three elements Wildwood resident and Republican U.S. Senate candidate Todd Akin spoke about Monday evening, as he met with more pre-election supporters at various campaign stops. But he told Eureka-Wildwood Patch Tuesday morning while standing in line to wait to vote that "all the work has been done, and now it's about hoping for a good outcome."

Akin's wife, Lulli, said they slept like a rock last night.

Akin, currently the 2nd District U.S. Congressman, said his main question mark, and possibly concern for Election Day, is how long after 7 p.m. it will take for the voter turnout to be compiled.

"So many elections this year are very, very close. The outcomes are important because they influence the direction of this country," said Akin.

Akin said many of the propositions this year were not partisan issues, and were moreso judgment calls.

Lulli said they just hoped people voted "honestly and just once wherever they are in the United States."

Both Akins said they hoped to get to bed early tonight, and would be a bit "lonely" after today's huge push was over.

There is somewhat extra interest in where Akin votes due to questions raised during March 2011 about his official residency—which reportedly was Wildwood since 2009—compared to a second home located in Town & Country where voting records indicated he had been voting.
