Swimming in Florissant Might Cost Nonresidents More

Florissant City Council considers amending nonresidents rates at Bangert Pool, Koch Family Aquatic Center

If you don’t have a Florissant resident card when headed to the pool this summer, you might be paying a higher cost to enter.

Monday night, the Florissant City Council will have its first reading on an amendment to its pool rates for nonresidents. If approved, nonresidents could look to pay almost double the daily rate of what is currently charged at Bangert Pool and Koch Family Aquatic Center.

For example, youth, which is listed between 4 and 17, and adults would pay $10 and $12, respectively. Pool passes would also increase as an adult would pay $190, compared to $150, for an outdoor pool pass and for a family it would be $275, compared to $200.

Nonresidents can purchase a season pass for $100 (youth), $150 (adult) or $200 (family) or pay daily fees of $2, $4 or $6 respectively, as of today.

The council had previously discussed the possibility in a work session ahead of the pool season but waited on results of a pool comparison study done by Parks and Recreation Director Todd Schmidt.
