St. Louis County, State Filings Are Under Way

Several local officials have traveled to Jefferson City in order to file for state representative and senate seats.

Last week, filings for state and St. Louis County offices began, and it’s begun to give a picture of the races shaping up for August.

For St. Louis County, . Both filed on Feb. 28.

“I enjoy my position as a county councilman. I enjoy working with my community and getting things done,” O’Mara said in an earlier interview with Florissant Patch. “I want to make sure we get our share of resources.”

On the state level, four have filed in the District 68 race. District 68 falls under the redistricting, which has happened this year, and is formerly District 75.

All three democrats will face off in the Aug. 7 primary.

Two current state representatives have filed in their new redistricted areas as well.

Rep. Steve Webb (D-Florissant), who is the District 74 representative, has filed in District 67, and Rep. Margo McNeil (D-Florissant), who is the District 78 representative, has filed in District 69.

, and she will face a challenge from Florissant resident Redditt Hudson. Hudson works as the program associate for the American Civil Liberties Union of Eastern Missouri.

The filing deadline for these offices will be March 27.
