Florissant City Council approved a number of bills Monday night, including two for the appropriation of software and change in the grading scale for the new recreation superintendent.

The Council also granted requests and did the first reading on a number of bills, including the following:

  • The Council granted two requests to transfer special use permits from previous vendors, St. Charles Tower and Verizon Wireless, to Crown Castle Towers for the continued operation of cell phone towers at 1325 Paddock Drive and 10 Duchesne. Both requests were also read for the first time as bills on the agenda, Bills 8906 and 8907, respectively.
  • The City Council unanimously approved Bill 8903 to allow for the payment of more than $72,800 for software and projects in the Florissant Police Department. Mayor Tom Schneider explained that its for the department’s new dispatch and record-keeping system, which had an allocation under the 2012 fiscal year budget. However, the payment was held until kinks had been worked out of the software sufficiently.
  • The Council did the first reading on Bill 8904, which will authorize a transfer of $4,700 from the Park Improvement Fund to Building Maintenance for electrical repairs at the James J. Eagan Center.
  • The Council also did a first reading on Bill 8905, which will appropriate $800 from the General Fund to building maintenance for electrical repairs in the police department.
