Public Input Sought for St. Louis Transportation Needs

The first of three public meetings will be held at UMSL Thursday.

North County residents will have the opportunity to contribute ideas and opinions in the transportation needs of the St. Louis area.

The St. Louis Rapid Transit Connector Study, conducted by Metro Transit, East-West Gateway Council of Governments, St. Louis County, city of St. Louis and the Missouri Department of Transportation, will host three public meetings, beginning Thursday at the University of Missouri, St. Louis. The study is a part of Metro’s long-range plan, Moving Transit Forward. The plan focuses on advancing community goals, such as expanding Metro into new communities and increase the efficiency of the regional transit system.

The study will focus on enhancing the interstate corridor of Interstates 70, 64, 44 and 55 as well as Grand Boulevard in the city of St. Louis. Analysis and community input will help identify two transit projects that could offer the most success, according to the study’s website.
