Proposed Florissant Walmart CID Being Withdrawn

With Walmart having another public hearing, the development looks to withdraw petition for overlay sales tax district.

Walmart will be a showcase in the Florissant City Council public hearings Monday night, but with a few project changes for the council and public to consider.

Jeff Otto and Alan Bornstein of THF Realty will present the new plans and drawings for the proposed Walmart development.

But according to the councilโ€™s agenda, , which would help pay for project costs through a 1 percent overlay sales tax, is being withdrawn before the billsโ€™ first readings.

In a letter dated March 7, St. Louis Bank representative Stephen Hawl (Hawk) wrote a letter to City Clerk Karen Goodwin to withdraw the petition for the CID.
