Let the Questioning Begin

Mayoral candidate forum allows voters to learn about the possible new city leader.

On Wednesday night, Florissant residents will gather at the to see all six candidates who are campaigning for the mayoral seat speak at the mayoral candidate .

Presented by the and the City of Florissant and moderated by the League of Women Voters, citizens will get a chance to hear from each candidate about their future plans for Florissant.

Pat Jones, the league’s candidate forum coordinator, said that the mayoral forum is one of 13 planned forums in the St. Louis area.

Jones also provided insight into the format for Wednesday’s two-hour forum. 

  • Upon entering the forum, volunteers will provide residents with a small card and a pencil to write a question for the candidates.
  • At the beginning of the forum, the moderator will give a short introduction, and each candidate will have a two-minute opening statement.
  • Throughout the night, volunteers will gather the cards from the audience to submit to the moderator. From there, the moderator will select the submitted questions to ask to the group of candidates.
  • Each candidate receives one minute to respond to the question.

The forum starts at 7 p.m., and doors open at 6:30 p.m.
