In April, the city called for a special election for the Ward 3 council seat to finish the current term.

O’Fallon, who placed second and captured 23 percent of the vote, said she’s proud of her campaign and placement.

“I wanted to be first, but I’m not surprised at the results,” she said. “We worked hard, and I ran a good, clean campaign. I’d rather lose with a clean conscience than win any other way.”

O’Fallon said that this won’t be her last involvement in the political arena. She said she wants to continue to either attend council meetings or work on others’ campaigns. She also said that she’s considering another run at the seat in April 2012.

For Mark Behlmann, who came in third and also ran for mayor in April, he said he’s not sure of what the future holds.

“There’s always something around the corner,” he said.

He said that he’s currently planning to turn his attention to Dan Boyle’s campaign for Florissant municipal judge in November.

With a long campaign season behind him, Eagan said that he's looking forward to spending more time with his wife this weekend and allowing his win to soak in.
