Heads Up: MoDOT's Lindbergh and 270 Project Wrap Up May Cause Traffic Delays Friday

Plus, commuters should consider alternative routes for two other October days as MoDOT prepares to open a new interchange and ramp at eastbound I-270 and Lindbergh.

If your daily commute includes Lindbergh Boulevard near I-270 in Hazelwood, you might want to consider taking a different way to work on three October days.

On Friday, Oct. 5 and Friday, Oct. 12, MoDOT will continue making the final preparations to open the new interchange and ramp at eastbound I-270 and Lindbergh on Oct. 13.

Here’s what the schedule looks like.

  • Friday, October 5: New traffic signal at Lindbergh and the eastbound I-270 ramp will be activated and placed on flash.
  • Friday, October 12: Short duration lane and shoulder closures at night (up to 15 minutes) to remove and replace signs. These closures will be during non-peak traffic hours.
  • Saturday, October 13: The new ramp opens.  The old ramp from eastbound I-270 to northbound Lindbergh will be closed and barricaded.

“This construction is part of a project to widen and split the existing ramp from eastbound I-270 to southbound Lindbergh and install a new traffic signal on Lindbergh at the top of the ramp,” MoDOT said in a press release, adding that drivers will likely experience delays during this work and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
