Florissant Residents Turning Out to Vote in Missouri Primary

Although , it appears that Florissant residents have been heading to the polls.

In two Florissant polling places, poll workers reported a low turnout.

At on New Halls Ferry Road, poll workers said that there’s been “more valleys than peaks” in voters coming out. At on Charbonier Road, poll volunteers said that the turnout is about where they expected for the presidential primary.

According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, voter turnout is expected to be low and hover around 23 percent. But one polling place in Florissant seemed to be picking up.

At the , poll workers said that they were doing well and doing more than they expected. The community center appeared busy with residents coming in to file taxes, work out in the fitness center as well as attend various meetings throughout the center.

Even on Facebook, Florissant residents have said that they have plans to head to the polls Tuesday.

Kimberly Benz wrote, “I would like to point out that although this is an unbinding primary, it is still important to vote to show solidarity toward your candidate of choice. It is also very important that whether you vote today or not, March 17 is the Missouri caucus and that IS where candidates will be awarded delegates.”

Polls will be open until 7 p.m.
