Florissant Resident Pleads Guilty to Mail Fraud

Duane Cook, who worked for Edward Jones Trust Company, defrauded the company of thousands of dollars between 2006 and 2011.

Florissant resident Duane Cook pled guilty to one felony count of mail fraud and stealing more than $188,000 Wednesday.

Cook faces up to 20 years maximum in prison as well as fines up to $250,000, according to a press release from the United States Attorney's Office.

Cook worked for Edward Jones Trust Company as a trust specialist and then as an account review officer. Between May 2006 and June 2011, Cook submitted invoices in 61 incidents to three different Edward Jones Trust Company client accounts. All checks were made payable to Fever, a company that Cook set up to obtain the funds.

According to the press release, he spent all of the money for personal use.

He will be sentenced on April 6.
