Florissant City Council to Consider Amendments to City Charter

The council will also look at a bill to ensure no resident serves on planning and zoning and the board of adjustment at the same time.

The Florissant City Council doesn’t have any bills for second reading, but it has two bills that look like it will get through its first, second and third reading Monday night.

One bill relates to , while the other relates to ensuring that division remains between Planning and Zoning and the Board of Adjustments.

In E8798, if passed, three propositions would be placed in front of residents to make amendments to the City Charter during the April 3 election.

The propositions include:

  • The changing of the residency requirement for a ward election when a takes place;
  • The calling of an election in an election for the same office;
  • The calling of an election within 10 days of the vacating of an office.

E8797 calls for the prohibiting of a resident to serve on both the planning and zoning commission and the board of adjustment at the same time.
