The race between incumbents became heated during the past month as Hogshead ran an ad saying that she didn’t vote to support the lifetime health insurance for former district Superintendent Jeff Spiegel.

In 2010, the Ferguson-Florissant Board of Education approved a vote to give Spiegel and his wife lifetime health insurance benefits after his retirement from the district. Spiegel retired in June 2011.

Hogshead said she was campaigning on the fact that her vote on the matter did not count.

But, according to Henson and other reports, Hogshead did vote to support the bill over the phone.

The new board members will be sworn in at the next Ferguson-Florissant Board of Education meeting.
