Counting on a Possible Recount

Election Day has passed, but Ward 6 remains without an official winner of its race.

According to the St. Louis County Board of Elections unofficial results, Pat Stinnett seems to be the new Florissant , but a recount could prove to have a different outcome.

One vote separates Stinnett and Purgahn in the Ward 6 race with total votes at 470-469, according to the unofficial results. The third challenger, Ben Eye, sits at 336 votes with 100 percent of the precincts reporting.

Missouri statutes state that a recount can be done on an election when the difference of the vote is less than one percent; however, Purgahn would have to initiate a petition for a recount.
