Witness Spots Two Carrying TVs Out of Homes, Helps ID Burglars

A man and a juvenile burglarized two homes east of Black Jack on Oct. 31, police said.

A witness spotted an 18-year-old North County man and a juvenile carrying televisions from a residence in unincorporated North County just east of Black Jack last week, police said.

St. Louis County Police said officers arrested the men a short while later, and discovered the burglary was the pair’s second of the day.

Cornelius A. Marion, 18, of the 6300 block of Serrano Drive in North County, was charged with two counts each of second-degree burglary and felony stealing. The juvenile also is being charged.

St. Louis County Police said the two broke into a home in the 6600 block of Lakeside Hills Drive at about 7:30 a.m. Oct. 31 and stole a Dell laptop computer valued at $700.

At about 12:10 p.m. the same day, they broke into a home in the 12100 block of El Camara, about mile away from the first burglary, police said.

At that residence, they stole a Zenith 50-inch TV, a Hewlett Packard laptop, a Scepture 32-inch TV, a Nintendo Wii game system and a Sony PlayStation 2 game system, police said.

When the two were arrested, Marion had a laptop stolen from the first residence, and the juvenile had a laptop stolen from the second residence, according to the police report.

Officers found the rest of the property hidden in bushes near the burglarized house on Lakeside Drive.

Bail was set at $25,000 for Marion.
