Report: Man Shot in the Throat After Trying to Drive Drunk Friend Home

According to KMOX, the man offered to take his friend home when the friend pulled a gun and fired, striking the would-be Good Samaritan in the throat.

A man was shot in the throat by his friend Sunday night after the man had suggested to his friend that he was unfit to drive home because he had too much to drink, KMOX reports. 

According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the shooting happened at 7:10 p.m. Sunday on the lot of Olympic Lanes at 12751 New Halls Ferry Road.

The men had been to a St. Louis Rams game earlier in the day and ended up at the bowling lane, where they argued, said Florissant Police Officer Andy Haarmann. Haarmann said he didn't know what they fought about.

The man, whose name is not yet released, is hospitalized following surgery, the report said.
