Red Cross Sets Up Shelter in Florissant's Eagan Center

The power may not be fully restored in the area for another 24-36 hours.

Due to the storms impacting the North County area Friday night, the Red Cross has set up a shelter for those needing help.
The shelter opened at 3 p.m. in Florissant at the James J. Eagan Center, 1 James J. Eagan Circle.

More than 15,000 remain without power throughout the area, according to the Ameren map.

The Florissant Police Department posted on its Facebook page earlier Saturday that it would be another possible 24-36 hours before power was restored. An Ameren facility in Maryland Heights has been damaged from the storm and the company is working to restore it.

The shelter will be serving meals to those at the shelter.
